Light of the World, 2

In a world of anger, muck,
gloom and grief
a light beams.
It follows the rainbow
of long ago
with promise, with hope.

It comes to us
as of old
not to illume the vile
but to introduce
the answer
to every question.

It comes to us
in naivete, in love
the ultimate sacrifice
calling us back
into the light.
