Light In Darkness

Draw nigh to the Light my children
                                Tenebrosity fills the night
Seek the words of love within
                         Heaven's lambent words shine bright

Psalm 18:28
28 You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

Psalm 119:105
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Matthew 5:16
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

 1 John 1:5-9
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Thank you, Mystic Rose, what a sweet comparison, that is a beautiful thing to say <3 B.J. is just the initials of my name, Betty Jo :) I'm blessed with the name of course, Betty after my aunt and Jo after a cousin of my dad's. My name would have been Joe had I been a boy...but I surprised them by being yet another daughter. I like B.J. so much more, it feels freer to me somehow, I don't know why. I like it better than using my own name. Many of my friends call me B.J.

I'm glad you like it Judy, and it's a fave for you <3 My kids took down the Christmas lights they had decorated the house with on Saturday. A lot of my neighbors were leaving comments across the neighborhood site and saying they were sad this year to take down their lights and see others take them down. It's such a depressing time, a lot of us feel it. This poem came to my heart in a bout of sadness. I'm glad you like it sweet friend <3

I enjoyed reading your faith-based work. If only we could live as we should be it is a daily battle against all that is wrong. I appreciate your visit to my page and taking time to leave a comment. Sara

Yes, it is a daily battle. Before I wrote this, I was feeling blue and had prayed and part of this poem came to my mind. After that I read an encouraging Bible study on the Book of Daniel, and it encouraged me. Daniel had some mighty big trials, but God sent an angel to him to encourage him. It is a good reminder that we're not fighting these dark days alone, we couldn't. While reading prophecies that seem very clearly for the last days, we know that God is in the beginning and will be there past the end, His word is a light to us, and a hope! Thank you for stopping by Sara, I love visiting your poems <3
