Light and Contrast

On a mild Monday morning,
I use a reflection to see.
In time I'll come to understand,
  Why I never tried.
To think all day,
  Yet have nothing to say.
All I have are these words I never said.
You only need black and white, to cast an image.
This contrast seems to stay.
I have to let this feeling fall.
I have to let it go.

I see the days gone passed,
and feel what has long passed.
It is something true and pure,
like every line that I write.
I find meaning in light,
  the images that it cast,
  the memories that will last,
  and all of its contrasts.
It is all I will ever know.
