Light

Light is a disease.
I spent so long
trying to adjust my eyes
to the darkness,
and now, now!
It’s all for nothing;
the light floods in
for all of one second
and it doesn’t matter anymore.
Because once it has gone
I’ll be alone
in the pitch-darkness
again.
