Light

I reach out to the light before me
And I rise gracefully from the ground
My spirits lifting with me
My relief folding me like a blanket.
I fell from the ladder face up
Grasping the air with my hands
And then…
I realize that I can look up
I can believe again
Pull myself from the floor
Polished with troubles and loss.
As I reach for the ladder
I am determined to start again
Because I have Him in my life
And He won’t let me stay on the ground for long.
