Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. - Martin Luther King, Jr.
Light, racing from the heavens to the earth
Blazing through shadows and resting on dreams,
Painting the dawn in gentle peace…
Light, laughing like the wind in the trees
Promising the soul to always quiet the grief,
Erasing the darkness with sensations of grace…
Light, reflecting the music of joy’s embrace
Singing to the moments who silence the rain,
Kindling a feeling, blazing with melodies of gratitude…
Light, sighing into the mists rising around the peaks,
Kissing each thought with a blend of intimacy and love,
Telling the heart to listen, hear the beautiful glistening…
Light, dancing like the twisting of a storm’s silhouette,
Inviting the soul to hear the meaning of elation,
Trembling with pearls of wisdom, the gentling praise…
Light, rousing the wisps of language and faith,
Reassuring the moments, unburdened by doubts,
Even the hills seem to cry out with a longing for the sparks…
Light, beaming from the clouds with an invitation,
Moments awaiting the crispness of dew flavored dawns,
Stirring the spirit to hear the songs played by the heart…
Light, echoing over the alluring moments, mysteries,
In tones of feathery favors, mercies falling over the night,
Healing the memories of a past filled with fears, tears…
Light, softly playing poetry, flowing through the mind,
Rebuilding the dreams with a sense of love’s bliss,
Secreting the memories in the crisp, clear autumn notes…
Light, quivering, quaking with a need to breathe,
Erasing the darkness with the wonder of a new day,
Smiling through the branches, clinging to the prayers…
Light, a moment when God glances through the fog,
Enthuses the spirit to read the effortless hues, flowing,
Leaving the feelings in tune with adoration from a soul…
Light, listening to the blessings, faithful like yesterday,
Piercing the present with its remembrance – the music,
Liquid sun, slipping past the branches in a creative praise of God!
Would you still love me if I wasn’t a poet?
Sensing my spirit, my rhythms, my rhymes…
Musings revealing me, one breath at a time!
