Lift Your Soul

I step into the gym, my resolve is strong I lace up my shoes, and put on my game face I know that I'll push myself, all day long To lift heavier weights, and increase my pace. I start with the bar, a warm-up complete Then I add on the plates, with each rep I grow I focus on my form, and take my time to seat The weight, before I push and pull and flow. I switch up the exercises, to hit each muscle I sweat and I strain, but I never give in I know that the pain is just a little hustle To help me reach my goals, and where I want to begin. I work on my arms, and my chest and my back I squat and I deadlift, and my legs start to shake But I keep going, and I never slack I know that each rep is just another step to take. I finish my workout, and I feel so alive My muscles are pumped, and I feel so proud I know that I've given it all I can strive And I've lifted the weights, with all my might aloud. I leave the gym, feeling strong and renewed I know that I'll be back, to lift once again For the joy and the strength, that I've accrued Is something that I can't get from just any old pen. So I'll keep lifting weights, each and every day For the strength and the confidence it brings I'll push myself harder, in every single way To be the best version of me, with everything. Lifting weights is more than just a physical feat It's a mental challenge, and a growth in the soul It helps me to be the best that I can be And that's something that I'll always know.
