Life's Void

On the edge of the void, that's where we must be.
Somewhere between the thrill of taking your life into your own hands and the cold
realisation that you are finally in control of your own destiny is where you learn to
really live.
It is not the same for you and I, each of us must find our own void and peer
carefully over the edge, for we are human and we must look, or wither away, but to
carelessly leap into the void would surely mean destruction.
So we tread the fine line of life and hope that one day we shall learn to fly and bask
in the glory of that we can only watch from a distance.

thanks for your comment, but, when I write Nick it is a gift form the Holy Spirit, if the poem I post sometimes doesn't rhyme well I take the Poetic law that it is Ok? The Holy Spirit is penning these verses I'm not that smart so in closing I'D say keep up your excellent wok and don't ever get so serious that you can't have fun. God bless

Very though-provoking thoughts you have here, Nick-- yes I think we all feel that void at times and the tricky part is staying (or would that be teetering?) on that edge, making sure that we don't fall--I really like how you ended this write, of how we should learn to fly-- very nice :)

Nick, I see you were also intrigued by Dr. Ram's poem about a creature that eats her eggs. If you find out what animal does that, would you let me know? This sounds like a species that is inherently endangered. Best wishes, Carolyn

One for pondering, NIck. I am surprised if there are some who do not ever feel the void!!And that is so true that we tread a fine line in life!

Walking that fine line is difficult, Nick. Can relate to the "void" you describe. Always feel like I'm on the edge of plunging forward carelessly or retreating in fear. I hope one day all of us can learn to "fly and bask in the glory" that often seems so elusive. This poem had special meaning for me. Definitely a favorite because I can relate to it so much. Love, Carolyn

Beautiful are the words that come to mind! I love sentiments like this... makes me think deep about what really is of essence... the second sentence puts it all so... plain to see... there can be no debate about it. Nice Nick, really really nice or shall i say in swahili lingo 'Poa Sana!' means 'Really Nice' > asante (thanx) 4 ur comments
