Life's Roulette

It could have been me
whose brains got blown off today.

And it could have been you
 wasted in that high-rise inferno.

But neither one of us,
at least not yet, vaporized as gas.

So let us be merry, drink!
when it comes, smile, don't blink.

Wilfredo, I am enjoying your poetry. Perfect title. On any given day, it could be us, and of course eventually it will be. I agree with your two last lines which say so much. Enjoy life while we can, and when the end approaches, smile for two reasons: the life we were blessed with and the life we are hopefully going to. Love, Shar

Exactly, if we worry about everything bad that might happen, we'll never be happy. It's better to smile and live and take what comes. You're absolutely right! ~Juliane
