Life's Race

A step in time, foot by foot
Is how we must venture ahead
Slowly, surely, walk a true line
On that road of life we tread

No one truly knows just where
The road that’s there will lead
But foot by foot, eyes wide open
In life, you’ll then succeed

Run not, ever to darkness
For you’ll stumble to the ground
Leap only, ever in lighted direction
Happiness then be abound

So upon reaching your destination
Look back, see then your prints
You’ll smile and be ever grateful
As the finish line shows you did win
