Life's Pleasures

I am small for my age
I am on many a page,
No mountain high or valley low
You won’t guess, you won’t know.

My life is under the sun
Been this way since day one
I can shed the rain and snow
I don’t stir from winds that blow.

There are plenty more like me
Were all the same, why wouldn’t we be?
Don’t know how I got here
No one would lend an ear.

I live by the deep blue water
Days I’m cool, days I’m hotter
Sometimes I get a good tossing
Enough time to do my washing.

I can see the beautiful sunset
It dries me off when I am wet
I see the tides and seagulls ashore
Watched the fisherman and boats galore.

I am never alone here
I have others so near,
We have stayed together for so long
Since day one when I was born.

I hear the sounds from both sides
Near and beyond the breaking tides,
I don’t travel or go very far
You must now think I’m bizarre!

I have survived the elements and storms
My family comes in all shapes and forms,
You can pick me up, I’m within reach
Now you know I live at Pebble Beach.
