Life's Not a Fairy Tale
I am but a peasant in a sea of Kings and Queens
The fairest of them all, and the strongest of them all
Pure on the outside, but what about in
Would you dare appoint a King just because HE wants to win
Whould you dare hang out with a Queen who could later call you a has been
This isn't a fairytale
The fairest see me and turn
The strongest see me and turn
Other peasants see me and cheer
When the fairest become fairer
In front of the bathroom mirror
I enter and they leave
I look in the mirror and say
"Mirror, mirror onthe wall,"
But before I finish, she stops me and says
"You're not the fairest of them all."
Life's not a fairytale
I see my prince in the distance
Though I know he would leave me for a princess in an instant
My fall out of my hands and what happens now
No one helps me, because they don't know how
But a Queen drops her book and I help her out then
She smiles and says thank you like I was her friend
I go to the mirror on the bathroom wall
But before I ask who's the fairest of them all
She says "Life's not a fairytale, and your looks don't matter
It wouldn't be Wonderland without someone madder than a Hatter
But your heart is pure and your motives are wise
When you help someone out you get a gleam in your eyes."
Okay. So, maybe life can be a fairytale.
