Life's Lusty Silhouette
The pleasures of life are many
Yet, like moving sands,
They are to be avoided at all costs!
The pleasures of life pull me with their mesmerizing glow
Still, like an awakened one, fully aware of her spiritual call
I remain bent on seeking the gates of the skies
I remain, even, bent on obeying their wills
So that my soul does escape the mighty net
Of the laws of actions and reactions!
Still, life remains dexterous
To lure me, she adorns her silhouette
With all that which the human inhabiting me yearns
From flowery flute melodies to silky garments
From the enchantment of love to the comfort of abundance
Still, like one so enamored with the many mysteries of existence
I refuse to succumb!
Why, if life becomes so mighty due to her sparkling silhouette
Pray, I choose to take care of that of my soul
So that it remains pure and eligible to be given
A bath in the eternal clear ponds of the lands made of harmony!
