Life's a Roller Coaster Ride

Hard to fathom what makes us tick We're all unique as they say One person loves rock and roll music Another loves Sammy Kaye Was always a true Glenn Miller fan And big bands of the 40s and 50s Vocalists like Sinatra and Como And Frankie Laine was also nifty Boy! Am I living back in the past With crinolines and saddle shoes Terribly miss the much simpler times Suffering from a case of the blues Guess each generation misses their past When things were a lot more fun This roller coaster ride can get us down Just enjoy your day in the sun Must be realistic and accept the future With all of it's scary unknowns If you approach it with a great big smile You'll wonder where the years have flown © Jack Ellison 2013

Great poem, Jack! I enjoyed it! I can really relate to this. I still listen to the music from my generation. I grew up with it, and I love it. I guess I am a nostalgic person, even though I am not that old, yet. Also, thank you for reading my poem "Ode To Autumn", and for the nice comments. I really appreciate it!

Jack; I love this. There is nothing wrong with remembering the past at least we can still remember. Life is what you say. We have to enjoy it while we can.... Lucilla

I guess we shouldn't dwell on the past but remember it with fond memories. Each generation has their own to treasure! Hugs, Jack xoxox

I really likesome of the classics... I was in tune to the 70's in a big way and still love to reminesce about those days. Thanks for the roller coaster ride. Much enjoyed :)

I'm not a big person of classics like that anymore. But, I have a massive respect for Sinatra. That man was a tremendous singer. Ah, how the generations have evolved...nicely done!

Smile Jack, and Blow slowly into the paper bag! LOL... I use a laser pointer for my kitty to chase. It works best when shown on her mouse toy. She can attack the light and feel the toy. More fun and more play ensues... No Dragon! That's kitty's mouse toy! Give it back to her. Whomp.. That's not good! Kinda flat for a toy now. You'll have to buy her a new one, after setting it afire... Bad Dragon, Bad Dragon... I'll get you a fire extinguisher toy. You'll love it. Trust me! Aww the Possibilities!
