Lifelines 2010

Marvelous,
    wonderful
and sweet
    are the sounds
    of your voice
and the thoughts
    from your heart
through our newest
    lifelines --
our calls
    and texts.

I thank
    our God,
that He has made
    ways for us
to be close
    even while separated,
because He knows
    all our needs
before we do.

And I pray
    for us to become
more dependent on Him
    and for Him
to keep our lifelines
    going steady – 
communicating
    with Him
and each other.

For without
    these lifelines,
what is our life
    here to become,
what meaning
    would it still have?
