Lifeline 2

nighttime almost bedtime when even shadows begin to yawn and fade. it could be a truly wonderful time if only you would reconnect the Lifeline and give me a call. to hear your voice on this ordinary plain vanilla friday night would mean more than you know. your gentle words would be used as a topping in order to make this otherwise dull and lonely evening palatable. i no longer sleep with the telephone by my bed because i would just stare at it trying to use some psychic power or praying for divine intervention in order for my ears to hear it ring once again with your voice filling my senses and soul. even without the Lifeline restored i know stronger than before how much i love you. I Love You as a person, as a friend, as a woman, as a mother. i thank God for letting me know you and somehow i’ll find a way to love you again or at least learn how to lose you… again. 8/22/86
