Currently dealing with Mother. It's surprising what can be forgotten. BUT THIS PIECE!~!~! It's wonderful. simple rhyming to the point. Not your usual material and grabbing at what I would have written if I went for this style. Situation.

A string of good footles, Sara, even though the main topic is a sad one. Definitely not one of the benefits of old age :( ~ Regards // paul

Such a range of emotions in the dips + turns of Alzheimer's. This Footle captures much of that rockiness. Take care of yourself in such challenging circumstances. Sincerely. Brian

A very heart rending disease to handle with family, your heart goes out to them, but you are also frustrated that with you, who they knew, for a lifetime, recognition wafts away in a breeze, and the breeze their memory did seize. My thoughts are with you dear Sara. Hugs, blessings, Jennifer.

Jennifer, He hasn't gotten that far along yet, but I know if I keep living and he keeps living that it can come. I would like him to discuss it with his doctor and get on some medicine to slow the progression, but I can't force him to do anything. Our grandson has HD and it is like a combination of Parkison's disease and Alzheimer's Disease. He is still in the early stages but it could at any point go the other way. I don't know how much longer I will be able to care for him. Your visits are uplifting. Sara

Sara, I understand and so sorry, my Dad had it and some uncles and aunts also. It is in my Family and like a time bomb, waiting to go off. You lose them before you lose them. I dealt with it through poems and Faith in God. Just Relief when God took him Home.

Patrick, I am glad that you found a way to handle the stress of the illness of Alzheimer's Disease or some form of dementia that happened to loved ones in your life. When it happens, one never knows who will come down with it and when. My husband's mother came down with the slow progressive kind and she really had it from in her fifties but lived to be 93. My husband's father's brother had it and it hit him in his sixties, and he did not live but a very short period of time once they knew what it was (maybe six months). It is hard on the young people to see the decline. Thank you for your kind and understanding review of my work. Sara

Hi Sara, It’s so sad when this happens. We must be thankful for a sound mind, one never knows if they are gonna get dementia or Alzheimer’s. Have a nice day my friend:-) Alexis

Sad to see folks fade away Sara, think many on here know someone who's gone that way. Footles are so addictive once you start. Tom

Tom, Yes, I have seen it with my husband's mother and her sisters, also my mother. When they reach a certain stage, I don't think they know what is happening but in the beginning it is very challenging. Thanks for dropping by. Your comments uplift me. Sara

Well described, Sara, in this succinct form--and you still managed to use metaphors. Sad theme--but life is so.

Vijay, Yes, life issues out some good and some bad. I think the good helps us to get over the bad and go on. I feel for those who seemed to be issued out too much of the bad or their whole life seems to be bad. Thanks for the visit. Sara
