Life Shall Not Owe This Love

Will love
Stand by your side
Protect you
From the eye of
This storm
What are we
Willing to bargain for
This love is a game
Does love wait at your door
This unwritten contract
Laughs at the court
Life shall not owe
This love a guarantee
Why do we pretend to be satisfied

I love the reference to the "unwritten contract" that "Laughs at the court." I have always believed true love does not need papers to prove its worth! I found your poem truly fascinating and filled with great insight! Love, Carolyn

Very intriguing, Much to think about here, Love is awesome and wonderful but it is also painful and scary..There are never any guarantees but for love I think it is worth all the risks..Nicely done..God Bless You*Tyesha
