Life Savers

Depression is such a strange state of mind
Thoughts go to the extremes
Mood swings run rampant
Yet, a strong person will hold onto
Even the slightest bit of sanity

Loneliness grasps your very soul
Dreams are never truly realized
Tear-stained faces no one ever sees
Yet, an inner passion for life
Keeps you moving forward

Who do you turn to in the world we know today?
How do you deal with such heart-numbing feelings?
Just when things get roughest & all hope is gone
Dig deep within yourself
To find that thread you can hold on to

Remember those who mean the most to you
Keep in mind the things that make you feel alive
Allow yourself to be loved
Lifesavers come in so many forms
One of these may be yours

This really grabbed me. The pain of being in that lost and lonesome place is almost intolerable and not something that shows like a broken leg. You describe it so well and I like how you offer solutions. Well done.

You words are so very kind. Thank you! All have had to, or will eventually have to, endure such pain. It's just a matter of remembering you have a support system, to help you through.
