Life Regained With Thee

Gone are my days of glory and grandeur,
Cast are my shadows o'th' shackles of life.
Never did I suffer from loss of vigour
With a lesson of mind's wonderful strife.

But methinks i'th' hour of pain thou shouldst remain
With me, and in me thou only takest pity,
For I know thy love for me refuseth to wane,
Whilst in seclusion I mourn for my city.

No, my love, my lost glamour isn't lost for ever,
For thou hadst taught me the rules of life the riddle.
Pallid, I ponder to redeem my fervour,
Amidst the howling owl's hideous cuddle.

Stolen days of my success I must find,
In thee--and thy love as my hapless mind.

Your first post on Poetry Soup has everything. The sadness of Heartache and the strength of overcoming that heartache. A very emotional and heartfelt poem. Yes I would like to thank you for commenting on my poem. It is my hope that one my book comes out later this year you will get a copy and endorse the book after you have read the entirety of the book. The name of the book is Psalms of Humidity to find out where it will be sold look up Christian faith publishing that is my publisher.

Sarban, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@
