Life of a Dog

Puppy follows heart
Owners sitting.
Lap. Lap. Lap.
Clip. Clip. Clip.
Slurp. Slurp. Slurp.
Ball!

Puppy tries to be unfriendly.
No one’s fooled.
Lap. Lap. Lap.
Slobber. Slobber. Slobber.
Chew. Chew Chew.
Squirrel!

Two puppies.
Pretend disinterest
While circling and sniffing.
sniff. sniff. sniff.
Warning growl.
Puppy pile!

What a great life they lead, think I'll come back as a pampered pooch.

My mother-in-law has already returned. We call her Sophie, and she guards me from my husband. If he gets close she starts growling. My mother-in-law truly loved me.
