Life Lines

Warm tears roll
from my eyes
and pool in my
open hands.
I watch as they
glisten,
the water dipping
into the lines
etched into my
palms.
The lines are
illuminated,
and I smile
because
I can see them for
the very first time.

Wow Katie. I've been reading your latest poems. You are a charming and inventive writer In this one I love the simplicity of words you use to bring us to such joyful conclusion. I'll be back to read more. Kathy
