Life Lessons, I

i once almost killed a man with egos bare hands, fortunate irregular heart murmurs and force fed blessings saved us both - i once tried it all because i couldn't bear to fall, i couldn't hold on to the broken home smiles in which i'd crawl - i once drew a portrait kept beneath lock and key, knowing all along anyone could see it was me, peering out hearts cavity - i once smiled to myself and had to look and see if i was alone, truth is rare and these moments i am prone - i once felt the sun upon my skin and realized my love is not my friend, a sinking swirling hurt dancing in the wind - i once made a human contribution to a drama filled production, accusations worn like an emperor who had no clothes - i once saw inspiration in a rock, how could i possibly know for sure it's message was clear, to run not walk - i once came upon a carefully laid trap, there was a gap in my hesitation and soon i was singing rages favorite childhood song - i once met a homeless man wavy hair and suspenders, he said god held his hand, and that he'd never said it'd be easy - -
