Life Lessons
Mirrors covered, the blinds drawn tight
She is drinking something new tonight
Her hair all matted no bath today
She’ll do something if she gets her way
Smoked filled rooms and pimps galore
Look at her now she is a whore
I know her now I knew her then
I meant nothing she needed men
She smoked, she drank she shipped us off
Hit her pipe and began to cough
You make me sick you sorry girl
Take her mister and give her whirl
Crack or smack which will she choose
Either way I know we lose
Can I forgive what she did then?
Leaving me and choosing men
All I know is I will do much better
As I walk out I leave her a letter
“Goodbye mother I’ll stay out of your way
I’m starting my life over today”
That was then and this is now
My life has changed I know not how
I have started over and treasure life
I have made him a great wife
His children I gave him and hold them all dear
I am not like her no where near
I changed my life all for the better
It all began when I left her the letter
