Life is search for truth -2

A stranger, lost on a cold wintry night,
Searching warm shelter in a frantic rage,
Sees two campfires in his shuddering plight,
One a real fire, next a fleeting image.
In anxious state, he picks one looking fair,
Soon getting annoyed for not getting warm.
Alas, he’s seeking what is never there,
So too in life man’s vexed by such a storm.
He searches, Christ as said: seek and you’ll get,
Yet, Christ meant seeking the inner essence,
Not wild desires like brake-less speeding jet,
Or bottomless deep well as dark and dense.
If men were to wrap skies like warm blanket,
End of his grief and God’s grace might beget.

Note: The sonnet ending couplet paraphrases the verse 6.20 of Shvetashvatara Upanishad as under:
Yada charmavat akasha cheshtayishyati manavah |
Tada devam avijnyaya duhkhasya antah bhavishyati || Shvetashvatara Upanishad 6,20 ||

When men can wrap the sky like a blanket, then without knowing their inner essence, reach the end of all their sorrows. What the Upanishad proposes (in a way begging the question) is impossible to do and hence there would be no end to human grief, given the way happiness is sought.
