Life is Good

Our country’s strong, we all know that, said the politicians, to the diplomat. There’s no such thing, as economic depression. Then they scurry on by, so they won’t have to gaze, down the dark streets, or the cold alleyways. Where America hides, all of its transgressions. While high upon, the Capitol Hill lawn, lies are taken as fact. Though the truth may be gone, we still must live on, only now, it will be at their discretion. Rome was once, a mighty land but alas, yielded to destruction. Be assured the past, will again repeat, if we continue in this direction.

Truth hidden is still truth and it is sad the the “servants of our country” seek to serve themselves. Hopeful for change…

Thank my friend. I hate to sound like I'm stuck in the sixties, but if the politicians are unwilling to change then it is up to the people to force them to change. First, we must open our own eyes. Then open our mouths.

Most if not all great civilizations / empires crumble from within. Sad to be a part of this one, my friend. Tell it like it is, Jerry. Well done! Have a great week! Bill

Thank you, Bill. I do say, we have had a pretty good run. Sad to see it go.

This is a fine look at the old imperialism game. Nicely done and insightful. Money ponzi schemes always run out of other people's money, eventually.

I agree with you, Jerry. Our nation seems to be crumbling from within. We shall fall as did Rome if we don't self correct as a nation and people. Happy Thanksgiving, Sara

Happy Thanksgiving Sara. My faith in humanity has certainly waivered but I'm not sure, all hope is lost. But our chance for survival has definitely moved from slim to nearly none.

This poem dovetails to my anxieties about the future. I like the world like it used to be. Thanks for exposing facts.
