Life is Good
Our country’s strong,
we all know that,
said the politicians,
to the diplomat.
There’s no such thing,
as economic depression.
Then they scurry on by,
so they won’t have to gaze,
down the dark streets,
or the cold alleyways.
Where America hides,
all of its transgressions.
While high upon,
the Capitol Hill lawn,
lies are taken as fact.
Though the truth may be gone,
we still must live on,
only now, it will be at their discretion.
Rome was once,
a mighty land but alas,
yielded to destruction.
Be assured the past,
will again repeat,
if we continue in this direction.
