Life Is a Swing

I started at the top
I know this, I was born rich
But now I have nothing to give
Except maybe this
Nothing at all to give
Not even this
Even now I'm not sure what I mean
Nothing figures when nothing figures
But who knows?
Life is a swing
Like dangling on a rubber string
High today low tomorrow
Swinging back and forth pendulum style
Hoping not to fall and get impaled
Biding time, waiting to exhale
Maybe I can get back to the top
And start again the journey
To the bottom
