Life In the Country

Life in the Country

Life in the country can be a blast
When you live there you feel free
I remember from my past
Life in the country.

I was raised on mother’s knee
Loved enough to last
My parents were good to me

My life was spent in the lower caste
I guess it was meant to be
Yet I don’t regret my past
Life in the country.

Challenging form but well done and engaging. "Loved enough to last" resonated with me. I wrote a quatrain that evokes the past: "Pen in Hand." You might enjoy it.
