Life Giving Rain and Sun

The rain is soaking the land bringing much needed substance to the young flowers, trees and plants. The following day all is rife with colour as the once dropping plants come back to life.

rain falling softly
bringing life to thirsty land
with blazing colour

The drought at last ended, everywhere is full of promise as the cycle restarts. Arid lands now blossoming and blades of new grass feed the hungry cattle. Life once more is good.

sun shows happy face
she warms soil bringing forth life
bees buzz happily

Now comes a time of plenty as crops ripen in the fields, the groaning apple bow under their burden. The farmer's wife sets forth to gather them for apple pies and crumbles which will fill happy belly's.

life is affirmed
crops are gathered for harvest
will last the winter

I really appreciate your entering my contest, thanks very much. However there were a few little things with this piece that kept it from the winners circle, and with so many great entries I could afford to be picky. Belly's, I'm sure you meant bellies, and I think you wanted drooping, not dropping (though I could be wrong). I'm also no fan of using the same word twice in a one haiku, and you have happy and happiness. Apart from that, I did enjoy this read muchly.

We could use some of that rain over here. We have had the worst year for forest fires. Great poem!

A well written poem that offers quiet reflection on the nature of our world and the values we place on the essentials of life, like sun, rain and community. Emile.

Yes! after the rain, God blesses with a time of plenty. This reminds me of what we go through in our lives when we question if it will ever end. But then comes God with His rainbow of promise and new beginnings!~~~Darlene
