Life, Birth and Death

A day by the sea,
You reveal life and death
Happening all at once,
Out of, what seems like, human control,
His control, her control…

Dead birds washed up on the shingle shore.
A baby seal pup amongst the line up of death
Tinted orange like rust,
Injured, unable to move.

Its eyes, your eyes,
Pierce right into the depths of my heart
And my body lets out a sob.
Tears of compassion roll down these cheeks.
The sea no longer a place of nourishment for the living.

And this heart is moved deeply
And your divine grace is felt,
Is tattooed into wisdom.
Have mercy on these beautiful creatures
Your creations,
May they rest in your peace.

Looking out to the marshland
On the other side,
Is life all around.
The beauty of the long grass
Swaying in the ocean breeze
Moved by your breath.
Pulling on the strings of this heart,
The warmth of the Autumn Sun
Lighting up this face.

And I feel you drawing me in ever so close.
Whispers of remembrance grace my ears….

“Do you see me?
Do you feel me?
I am life all around.
I am death all around.
I am the love that weaves through all of creation.
Do not hold onto life so tightly and let me breathe you, move you, experience humanity through you.
Do not avoid death so fearfully and let me show you Divine birth and creation.
Relax.
Feel.
Fall into my arms and let me show you who I am…who you are.
I am Divine unconditional love in all of creation,
In every atom,
In every cell.
If you fall into my arms,
I will catch you.
And truth will be revealed.
Life is love,
Life is birth,
Life is death.
I am life, let me live you into remembrance and I show you eternal love.”
