Life and Grace Collide

Your grace still amazes me,
waves of mercy washing over me.
My transgressions shoved
to the ocean floor, setting me free.

Free to live my life. But now
it's about pleasing you......
doing the things you
want me to do.

As I appreciate the gift of grace
more and more each day,
and allow you to show me your ways,
I realize I see things differently.

Like the morning fog being
"burned off" by the sun's rays,
there is no longer such a haze.
It's now into your face
I long to gaze, to witness
your glory ablaze.

But in the meantime,
help me Lord, help me
not to fail you. Help me
instead to come along
side you and complete the
tasks you have set aside
from the beginning of time
for me to do.

Make my hearts vision
clearer Lord, able to see
and take advantage of the
multitude of opportunities
you continue to create for me.

Opportunities to speak a word
of encouragement, smile at a
stranger passing by, converse
with the broken-hearted and forlorn,
play a game with a youngster
and them wonder why.

For this is what life is
really all about. Thanks
for satisfaction in You and
your plans. Thanks for
contentment in the Truth.
Thanks for your mercy
and grace for the many
times I've failed and will fail you.
