Life and Death

LIFE AND DEATH The idea of death The reality of death Though close In youth the two seem poles apart Yet, as one gets older As spirit slowly leaves the body That husk – with lingering now mentality – Reluctantly finds self uncomfortably squeezed Between the two

I guess we need to die to find out what it's all about but don't relish the idea. This gets me thinking and feeling like I don't want to go there. A great poem gives something to ponder which this one does.

Wow, Daver, I can really relate to the message here. Young people feel they are invincible. At this time I like my spirit is slowly leaving my body. As you say so eloquently here, it is the state between life and death that make people feel "uncomfortably squeezed." That's not the case for me though, my friend. I am at peace with whatever our Creater has planned for us. Love, Carolyn
