Life According To Cecilia

Life is a journey with much happiness and pain
With twists and turns that bring sunshine and rain

              *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Young and strong with the world at your feet
Ready to face anything and anyone you meet

Fearless and brave you march to your own inner drum
Not caring where your going and where you came from

Convinced there will be time for all you want to do
Thinking your invincible and wild through and through

Leaping before you look, not afraid of being hurt
Wisdom of your elders you unconcernedly avert

Collecting memories and experiences at record speed
Expecting loved ones to always be there when you need

                 *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Now older and wiser you reflect on your life
Realizing you could have avoided much strife

More cautious and wary you step with care
So not to leave yourself vulnerable and bare 

Questioning your motives before you embark
Knowing you shine whether you make a mark

Treasuring those you love, giving them your time
Reminiscing about those who made heavens climb

Taking advice of seniors for they are astute and wise
Slow down and enjoy each moment for life is the prize

Faraz Ajmal June 27, 2018 at 11:25 AM You are absolutely right, life is a journey with happiness and pain, when it is going in your way, just thank God every single second, when it is against you, just have patience and trust in God as He don't test anyone more than he/she can bare, you can never expect life to go as you expect it to be, you have to sacrifice anything, like I am 16 now, and after three years I might go to England for studies, my father is 60, so if I go, I ll study for 10 years and I will miss my time with my father Cecilia Macfarlane June 27, 2018 at 12:09 PM What will you be studying for 10 years? We know wisdom comes gradually through experience. We would be lucky to travel this road without getting shot at or bullied when young. This would be beautiful. But alas, we have our own variations and flavors to take in and to travel on. You are truly beautiful to write this. It is a wonderful ideal and model of life. Gives me a lot to ponder.
