LIFE

LIFE Life has so much to answer for Being newborn is just the start All with significant expectation Growth, physical and personal Achievement and procreation But with death just out of sight As almost as a trick of the eye Never to quite understand it all A life yet to be lived to the full Mocking a mere bland existence Let the blood pump in the veins The mind sharpens like a sword As a heart that can take the pain Is the price to pay, year on year For a life, worthy of its existence That survives and indeed, thrives Proving nature is right and wrong
