Lies
Deep inside my soul, I know the truth
Because, I witnessed it with my own eyes
I saw it, lived through it and survived it
My life abruptly changed, because of it
However, my soul grew and healed from it
Those who stole some of my childhood,
Continue to lie and deny facts gathered
The lies not only hurt, but there is a shadow
A shadow of burdens from lack of closure
Their darkness follows the light of my soul
Although, I always try to live life to the fullest
To pursue what I believe in, to live authentically
There will continue to be burdens cast upon me
As long as those who lied so long ago,
Continue to pave the road with more lies
