Lie With Me

If days go by and a full moon flutters, remember my dream If on this night I lie awake with pride and distinction, I’m a broken man If in time you touch a cloud and misty doubts disperse, your pulse senses mine If some day your eyes meet another’s veering in bewilderment, they bare my soul If suddenly questions are posed in slow, cryptic prose, turn my way If for us flowers grew beneath sunset hills they would colour my way If you think I feel a heart’s demands, it would be yours If days go by and I lie awake, a broken man, in a dreamless trance, with misty doubts and a clouded way… please lie with me
