Lie To Me

How can you stand there and lie to me telling me your fine?
When I can see the look in your eyes that your life has been crushed.
I hear what you have said are rumors of you.
That you've looked into the bottle for salvation, taken the blade to your skin
and swallowed pill after pill.
I may not be your friend and tell you the words you want to hear
but hearing about your troubles brings back memories I've locked away.
I know your secrets, I've heard all about you,
And this all started cause you thought he was the one...
Your life, your rock, your one and only and your first.
We've all been there before, we've all felt the pain
Picked up the bottle and saw happiness,
ran that blade across our skin and watched the blood spill and swallowed pill after pill.
Even if we deny it we have done something we've regretted after losing the love of our lives.
I may not tell you the things you want to hear and you may hate me for what I've got to say.
But you need to stop this madness and stop hiding your pain.
Break the bottle, trash the blades and the pills and live your life.
There may not be another one like him out there for you but I promise you
will find someone else who will break your heart and someone who will mend it.
There will always be another.
Stop lying to me and tell me the truth I already know what you don't say
I can see it on your face.

Strong emotional write, Stacie. I remembered my own history and my friends history and knew exactly what you were talking about without some of the extremes, but it hurts everyone the same. Great write. Love Destiny
