Lie On Lie Beguiles the Truth
The truth stood downcast in the lie.
Ostracized stranger in line-up
Of liers wearing 'Who Me' masks
To hide behind their stone-face guilt.
Eye's up, stand proud, forsaken as
The truth stood downcast in the lie
With story stranger than fiction
Backed up with watertight alibi.
He went there to help friend distressed
By a tragic lover's rift, but
The truth stood downcast in the lie
As he saw knife on floor, grabbed it.
Knife cleaned and dropped, he rushed away,
Friend lied to provide alibi,
But witness tap in line-up proved,
The truth stood downcast in the lie.
