Letting Go

Letting go
Of the dream
That you would rescue me
From my benign existence

Letting go
Of the pain
Of the despair that I plunged into
When I gave you my heart

Letting go
Of your betrayals
Of your twisted manipulation
Cleverly disguised as a loving request

Letting go
Of your cruelty
Of your madness
Of your memory

Farwell, forever my love
It's been frightening
But, the important thing is
That this chapter of my life has come to an end

I especially like the last line. Now you can move on with new knowledge. Keep writing. Sara
