Letting Go
Letting go
Of what seems like years of pain
that festers up and drains.
The past that seems to push us to the edge
Overwhelms our soul and we feel dead.
You see the darkness, but the light still shines
so we face the battle blind.
The past still finds away to take the only strength we have
and build on memories or past hurt to break us down.
That moment when all is lost we hear the sound of peace
finding the way to us through all the darkness that surrounds us.
We lift up our face through shame and brokenness to see that
love and peace is still there, and we know that someone still cares.
Our soul lifts up and we will never give up.
Letting go to the past will be hard but not giving up will be our reward.
The darkness fades away and our heart soul begins to pray.
The light shines through giving an essence of a humble you,
as we face the days with a love so new.
Others we see are in awe to the love we brought
and over came the past that tried to take us apart.
Never giving up and shine so bright that others will see
that darkness will never be.
