Letters To My Family At Sea
I am not you, never deprived the nutrition of my heritage.
I am not you, never whipped into submission.
I am not you, never married to a nation that rapes my hope.
I am not you, never killed for sport and fear.
Your origin merely lies in the complexion of your pigment.
Branded with the name of ownership, King, Baldwin, Parks.
I am not you, yet mirriors only reflect your appearance.
I am you.
You are my brothers and sisters created from my own rib.
