Letters Drift
letters drift
thoughts like snow petals
be careful where they fall
lest they melt and disappear
on heedless ground
I want to write to you
all of my dreams intricate as cold flakes
protected in the north of my mind
but I fear that you will brush them
from your sleeve without consideration
and those tangled in your eyebrow
will turn into water like tears
upon your cheek I weep
so many stories soft as baby's breath
white, curling on the air
what do I do with all of this love
but frighten you away
