LETTER TO PAPA
When I was born, how I was born I don't know,
The date he gave me is what I hold.
He was there when I didn't know,
I fumbled and stumbled but you never let go.
When my motivation is gone and I've lost hope,
you've always been there for me, and for once you never let go.
Though I'm so ungrateful,
and never been so faithful,
but each time I've sunk low and not bold,
you've never failed me, or shamed me.
When I've felt sour and bitter,
no once have you made me feel worst.
He bears my financial burden,
oh! yes I'm naughty,
but for my love, he takes it to be nothing.
I don't feel worthy but he see's me worth him,
he made a pledge to me,
a pledge of sacrifice with his everytime.
He didn't provide me with the coolest,
neither with the biggest,
but in this shell that we live in,
I have never felt hopeless,
for my sake he made it home.
Once I turned back to give up,
when I felt no inspiration to dig on,
he came to me singing a new song,
"I'll shield for you, just fight on!,
I'll always be okay if you don't fall out".
I can see the look on his face,
he is tough and feels pain too,
yet he tells me he's okay everyday.
Though I fail, he didn't fail me,
though I hurt, he won't hurt me,
he absorbs my Ill to heal me.
My father my man,
my role model, my hero,
you never forget my hungry belly
you're a giver to my seeking palms.
My papa is my financial backup,
without him where's my steeze?
when my cord can't cope with the shock, he's my adaptor.
Papa I don't take your relentless effort for granted,
I won't take your unwavering love for nonsense.
Anywhere I am loud, he is my voice,
he travels with me on journeys I can't unravel,
I have fed on him like a parasite,
his blood runs short to make me tall.
Calling you dad has never been a mistake,
Thank you for letting me call you my dad.
Thank you for letting me your child.
It is an honour growing in your arms
You're a gem, your kind is rare.
If reincarnation were possible,
I'd choose to be yours countless times,
infinite lifetime and forever entwined.
Though my heart conveys more than in this words,
even I'm not satisfied,but I love you.
And this is for my papa, he's my father.
