Letter of Reminiscence
We started out together, dear Friend
Hours on wearied knees we’d spend
‘til from hour glass more time we’d lend
But now I wander, what might have happened?
According to you, it seems late for your soul to mend
For your heart once golden has hardened
Ice cold and immeasurably distant
No trace of the longing cry once penitent
Tears of compassion in your eyes no longer evident
Instead defeat beams from them ever so fervent
Clearly, frivolity has replaced the prominent
And Darkness stolen your zeal once excellent
Though you need a good and hard smite
The kind that will wipe from your heart the spite
And reiterate strongly that despite
The acute fangs of Life that mercilessly bite
Your good deeds I can truly by heart cite
Believe Me, beloved friend, I didn’t write
For the reason of giving you a fright
Nor to remind you of your dimmed sight
We both know in you the keen knight
One who didn’t erase from his heart the fight
Still yearning to win the good fight by My might
One who has the potential to end it right
The unwavering faith I saw once in you
I now reciprocated to one once true
This time to accept My hand is your cue
Knowing Me will never be to you rue
For allowing our paths to cross no one can sue
Seeing that it was a genuine plan I had all through
You were faithful through the eve of dew
And didn’t stumble either in the morning new
You stood up undivided amongst a few
Time and again stumbling blocks you overthrew
‘twas Life who heartlessly your tender heart did chew
And out from its mouth it went as meaningless spew
But I have a final attempt, oh, My unforgettable blast
For you are not destined to be a thing of the past
But to serve Me wholeheartedly— with all your last
Please grab onto My panting hand real fast
For in vain we cannot your efforts away cast
Choose to again be from the world a great contrast
For Heaven is missing one with your immense zest
Oh special friend, in you I still have interest
I beg, do it for old time’s sake at best
Or for Taunt who has your soul under arrest
Do it for you long in my everlasting arms to rest
For you hold in my heart a place, as precious treasure in a chest
