There wasn't anything left to say The war wasn't over by a long shot We'll live to fight another day Why does it have to be so hot? This war isn't over by a long shot I want to see my family, I need to be strong Why does it have to be so hot? The United States is never wrong I need to see my family, I want to be strong We're going on another mission The United States is never wrong We have to be quiet, sit and listen We're going on another mission All of our weapons are ready we have to be quiet, sit and listen Hold them tight, oh so steady All of our weapons are ready We'll live to fight another day Hold them tight, oh so steady There is so much more to say

This is heartbreaking. I've a few years out of my life doing duty. I suspect many, many do. At 82 it seems so futile, yet must have been necessary. These young men and women, knowing practically nothing about politics, still go out and give their lives. We owe them everything. Congrats on this fine write. daver
