Letter G

A letter G went missing
At a Scrabble tournament.
Someone must have taken it –
That much was evident.

It was the championship event
To crown the Scrabble king.
A search was organized and yet
Nobody knew a thing.

Competitors were asked to turn
Their pockets inside out.
An extra G could possibly
Give someone extra clout.

The G was never found
But referees had extra tiles.
I’m sure that when it was replaced
There must have been some smiles.

Still, it remains a mystery
Just where that G could be.
Perhaps it’s seeking refuge
As a Scrabble refu-gee!
