Letter
Oh, brother did you see a mother's tears?
Did you hear a child's scream?
Or are you also as they are,
blind and deaf for human cries?
Do you not see the dark,
now that you live in light?
Have you forgoten who you are,
have you forsaken now your past?
And what of your mother,
since years, ill and weak?
What of your father,
now old and meek?
Oh, brother do you know,
I am now leaving home.
To fight in the war
for this is now the law.
If you still have a heart
if you know who you are
go home now brother
go and hug our mother,
our father
And if God allows,
I will leave behind
the happy family,
that we once had.
