Let's Get Sober

As I come to terms with myself

Through many years of pain

It really sounded like fun at the time

But now it seems Insane

Along with? age comes wisdom

Down to the very core

Though I never believed it

Thought it all folklore

From the school of hard knocks

Dad said I'd never learn

Life was one big party

The end not a concern

But I proved him wrong

In all that he said

I sorted through my problems

By using my head

Now clean and sober

My world no longer grey

I'm trying to help people

Through the things I say

So take this to heart

In the world that is yours

Use your mind in a way

That will open closed doors

Thank you so much Elizabeth, I have about a hundred poems that I was going to try and get published, but it's just easier to put them here. You're very generous with your comments, I hope people continue to be inspired by my poems as well as I hope to help people change their lives. Thank you and God bless you
