Lets Drift Away and Truly Dream

War surrounds us at every single turn
If you give into hate you’ll feel hells burn
It feels better to have peace to have peace than to fight
Will we ever see a dawn from this dark worlds night

Is this the message that we want to send
Lets close our eyes and play pretend
Put our hands up towards the sky
Open our hearts and ask the question why
Lets search for love in every stitch and seem
Lets drift away and truly dream

Do you want to inflict pain and agony
Or live righteous and have your spirit free
Are you only mighty with a gun and sword in hand
Shake in friendship and you will have everyone at your command

Is this the message that we want to send
Lets close our eyes and play pretend
Put our hands up towards the sky
Open our hearts and ask the question why
Lets search for love in every stitch and seem
Lets drift away and truly dream

Will you attack a person for who they really are
What comfort does it give you to leave and everlasting scar
All this violence for power and money to spend
You can explain it all to God at your life’s final end

Is this the message that we want to send
