Lets Be Open

Walk over to someone you have never met. Give them a smile. You will be surprised at their reaction. Everyone needs a friend. Perhaps that person is you. Sometimes this world can be a lonely place. People sitting side by side never speaking. A sea of humanity isolated. People wanting to be seen, afraid to speak. Wishing to be noticed. Are you strong enough to take the first step. Extend a hand and you will come to know, you are remarkable. The world can use more smiles. In the end you give yourself a special gift. For you may gain a special friend. Lets be open contest.

I've been on this path myself for a while. Trying to be more open and giving gifts of kindness, and smiling acknowledgements. It's work sometimes but great when it comes back to you:)

This beautiful, Richard, but sometimes when you are open, you wind up getting hurt, way beyond what you can bear. So, yes, let's be open but cautious, for too many wounds can break a heart. I'm a very open person...I'm learning to change for self-preservation. Guess this in itself was rather open...I'm hopeless! "A time to speak, and time to be silent...a time to embrace and a time to be refrain from embracing. For everything, there is a time!" I always have time to read your work! Always!

So we take a chance that we will be hurt, the love we receive far outweighs the hurt and I will be happy to risk all for but a few moments. Don't change a highly guarded heart is an empty one. Yours is Beautifuly placed on your sleeve for all to see.
